Description

Seeking a Communication and Capacity Building Specialist for a multi-year USAID-funded development project in Tanzania. Successful candidate should have 5+ years of experience working in a professional office environment, experience with organizing operations and administrative activities associated with project communications and capacity building activities. Applicants must be skilled at coordinating in-country activities with a diverse range of industry stakeholders; be proficient with tracking vendors, services, and project activities; be dependable, well-organized, detail oriented, articulate, and a problem solver.
Responsibilities
Liaise with project beneficiaries and support the implementation of capacity building action plans with partner institutions.
Participate in institutional evaluations to assess organizational need and capacity building priorities.
Develop and manage training activities for capacity building partners, including but not limited to participant organization and training logistics.
Support the organization and management of meetings, workshops, and seminars, including but not limited to creation, duplication, and distribution of event materials.
Support the identification and recruitment of short-term technical consultants as required. Develop scopes of work for the implementation of identified activities.
Oversee and maintain the project website, including managing vendors, developing ideas to improve the website, and supporting evaluation efforts.
Oversee the execution of Project Communication Plan.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience as a communications or capacity building specialist working in a professional office environment.
Bachelor's degree in related field required.
Excellent computer skills, working with MS Office suite of products, Word, Excel, Power Point. Strong verbal and written Swahili and English skills to clearly and confidently communicate ideas, articulate issues, and recommend solutions; interpersonal and client service oriented. Demonstrated experience with event or training facilitation to support partner organizations capacity building needs.
Demonstrated ability to work in collaboration with development partners and project team members to assist with office operations within donor regulations.
Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and versatility while ensuring adherence to project policies, guidelines, and va'tues.
Experience with Joomla website content management systems a plus.
Duration
The period of employment is a one-year contract with possibility of renewal.
